A private AI advisory·West Midlands, United Kingdom

A missed call is a missed job. We build AI that answers.

1 in 3 UK consumers will ring a competitor if a call goes unanswered within 60 seconds, and most won't try you again. We build the system that answers and books the callback — on your own accounts, at a fixed fee.

What a missed call is costing you

Your numbers. Our arithmetic. See it for yourself.

1 in 3 UK consumers will ring a competitor if a call goes unanswered within 60 seconds. You know your own phone better than any study does — put in what you think you're missing, and see what it adds up to over a year.

Talk about fixing this

IThe position

Most firms are dabbling with AI. Almost none have deployed it properly.

The rest are experimenting in the margins — a trial licence here, a chatbot there — with little to show for it. Pathways Intelligence exists to close that gap for you: to take AI from something you have been meaning to look into, to something quietly at work in your business. Properly deployed. Without disruption. Often starting with the simplest gap of all: the phone that rings out while everyone is working.

IIEngagements

Three ways to engage us — each at a fixed fee, agreed in writing.

IIIThe Pathways principles

How we work. Stated plainly, and kept.

  1. i

Your accounts, your keys, your data — always.

We build on your own systems. Nothing of consequence ever rests on ours.

  2. ii

    Fixed fees, agreed in writing.

You know the cost before we begin. There are no day-rates and no surprises.

  3. iii

    A human signs off everything.

Every engagement is checked and approved by a person before it reaches you.

  4. iv

We are open about using AI to deliver — that is the point.

It is how we work quickly and hold our fees fixed. We would far rather say so.

  5. v

No lock-in. Everything we build remains yours.

Should we part ways, you keep every account, workflow and record. Nothing switches off.

IVSectors

The businesses we serve — and one thing we would do for each.

  • Manufacturing & Engineering

Turning a specification into an accurate quotation — drafted automatically for you to check, rather than compile.

  • Construction & Trades

The call you miss goes to the next name on the list. An assistant that answers, books the work in, and hands to a person the moment it matters. Try a simulated call →

  • Wholesale & Distribution

Invoices and reconciliation prepared in advance, so the books begin tidy rather than in a shoebox.

  • Professional Practices

Client intake, contracts and case papers read, sorted and summarised the moment they arrive.

  • Healthcare Practices

Appointment reminders that quietly reduce no-shows, without anyone having to ring round.

Jacob Putt, founder of Pathways Intelligence

VThe principal

Jacob Putt

Pathways Intelligence is led by Jacob Putt, who works with a small number of owner-managed businesses across the West Midlands and, from there, the wider United Kingdom.

He scopes, builds and signs off every engagement personally — there is no account manager, and no offshore team.

VIIn plain terms

A few questions, answered plainly.

What is Pathways Intelligence, and are they credible?

Pathways Intelligence is a private AI advisory for owner-managed businesses in the West Midlands and the wider UK. We build AI automations on your own accounts and your own logins, explain everything in plain English, and agree a fixed fee before we begin — a £1,500 audit (refunded if we can't find three paying-for-themselves opportunities), a £3,000–£6,000 build, and an optional £450/month retainer with no lock-in. It's led personally by Jacob Putt, who scopes, builds and signs off every engagement himself — there is no account manager and no offshore team.

Will this suit my business?

That is precisely what the Audit is for. In a week or two we identify real, quantified opportunities in how you actually work — not a generic pitch. If we cannot find at least three worth doing, the fee is returned.

What will it cost to run afterwards?

Only your own subscriptions, held in your name, together with the retainer, should you choose it — costs vary by system (a missed-call answering agent on your own Twilio account, for example, is an estimated £20–£80 a month). There is no platform fee payable to Pathways Intelligence.

Is our data secure?

Structurally, yes. We build on your own accounts and your own storage, so your data never passes through ours. You decide, at all times, who may see it.

Do you use AI to do the work?

Yes — plainly and deliberately. It is how we keep fees fixed and turnaround in weeks rather than months. Every engagement is checked and signed off by a person before it reaches you.

What if something needs attention later?

On the retainer, we attend to it — that is its purpose. Without one, you are welcome to call and we charge for the time. Either way you own the whole of it, so you are never left waiting on us.

Is there grant or funded support for AI in West Midlands manufacturing?

Yes. Made Smarter West Midlands offers grants of up to £20,000, match-funded at 50%, for manufacturing and engineering SMEs adopting AI and digital tools — alongside free roadmapping and mentoring. We'll help you work out whether the funded route or a fixed-fee build with us is the right starting point — the two aren't mutually exclusive.

How many UK businesses have actually deployed AI properly?

Two figures, both real. 54% of UK SMEs say they're "using AI" (British Chambers of Commerce, March 2026). Only 16% have deliberately deployed it with a defined business purpose (Department for Science, Innovation & Technology, 2025). The gap between those two numbers is mostly someone using ChatGPT personally, with nothing else in the business actually changing.

How much business do small UK firms lose to missed calls?

1 in 3 UK consumers (37%) say they'll ring a competitor if a call goes unanswered within 60 seconds (YouGov for Answer4u, June 2026). For a construction or trades business in particular, a missed call is very often a missed job — and most callers try the next name on the list rather than ringing back.

Does bringing in AI put jobs at risk?

The evidence from businesses already doing it says no. The British Chambers of Commerce asked SMEs using AI this exact question in March 2026 — 95% reported no change to headcount at all. What we build is meant to take repetitive work off a desk, not the person behind it.
